Meet Marc

Marc knows firsthand the hardship of poverty. He also knows the value of hard work, determination and the opportunities this nation has to offer. Born and raised in a small house at the edge of a city dump, he quickly learned the value of fiscal responsibility, personal initiative and independence.

Upon graduating from high school during the Vietnam War, he volunteered and joined the Army for three years. Two of those years were spent overseas with an attack helicopter company. After being honorably discharged, he worked for several construction companies while also attending college. Over twenty years ago, with just twelve hundred dollars and a “dream," he founded “Construction Associates," a successful commercial general contracting firm.

He holds a Bachelors degree, two Masters Degrees and a PhD in Theology. Always aware of his modest beginnings, he strives to help others in need of opportunities themselves. He founded and directed Valley Gate Ministries, a soup kitchen and food bank in Beaufort County for 5 years until 2007. Marc is active in his community, helping and counseling others, and stays active in his church.
