Why I'm Running
I promised to answer the question as to why I would choose to run for Congress. I have a lot of reasons, so I’ll name just a few here today. I chose to run for U. S. Congress because I’m tired of voting for the lesser of evils. I’m tired of looking for someone to vote for only to find that I don’t like either candidate very much, so I end up voting for the one I dislike the least. I’m tired of poor leadership. I’m tired of our borders not being secure and I’m upset about the fact that they, both Republicans and Democrats, have taken money out of the Social Security system and squandered it. That was our money, not theirs. I’m tired of incumbents being re-elected 94% of the time. I’m tired of banks and Wall Street being bailed out while you and I suffer. I’m tired of reading in the paper or seeing in the news, situations that I saw recently such as the Republican party leadership entertaining people at a strip club. That is not leadership, it’s hypocrisy.
We need less career politicians, and more patriots. We need less lawyers, and more leadership. We need to take our government back. The best people to solve the problems of America are Americans, not Republican and Democrat career politicians. I’m running to give people a true choice; the ability to elect a veteran, business owner, and someone who is not and will not become a career politician. I’m running to give you, the people, an opportunity to begin to break the yolk of bondage placed upon us by both the Republican and Democratic parties. I’m running because my Congressman for this District says one thing, then votes another way. He has voted for the TARP bailout. And while he says he’s for jobs, has voted for NAFTA, CAFTA and other free trade agreements. He is a career politician and under his watch we have entered two wars, seen our borders trampled upon and been lead into economic collapse. This is why I am running. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can return to a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
